LEAD wins first award with CoFFEE
The LEAD project has won its first prize – the Italian
Aldo Fabris award for training. The prize was awarded in a special session on October 16
th 2008 in Rome.
LEAD was awarded the prize for both its pedagogical methodology and its technological achievement. Professor Vittorio Scarano from the University of Salerno’s computer science department, who led the development of LEAD’s CoFFEE software, received the prize on behalf of LEAD, together with Dr. Luca Tateo from the University of Salerno’s department of Education.

innovation into learning processes by using computers to support didactic activities, |

experimenting with students of schools in 3 Italian regions, with the active involvement of teachers of different subjects. The project has also resulted in innovative open-source software to support collaborative problem-solving, tested in the classrooms of 9 [Italian] schools.”
The “Aldo Fabris” award for training and education is a national Italian award, established in 2002 by public organisations involved in training and education, including the city of Rome, the region of Puglia and Formez (a governmental public administration agency for international outreach). Each year, prizes are awarded in four categories: private sector, public sector, universities and schools. LEAD was awarded the first prize for 2008 in the universities category. |
